Hi there everyone and welcome to Mingee’s Longhair Mini Dachshuds. My name is Christina(Chrissy)Mingee, mom to 4 amazing children, husband, and momma to some pretty amazing longhair dachshunds. My love and passion started at a very young age for animals and more specifically dachshunds as my grandmother had them while growing up. Then came my daughter Ky would is also an avid animal lover and more so longhair dachshund ethusiast. Together, Ky and I decided to dabble in breeding and see where it would take us, not knowing just how far. Ky and I have done alot of research, still ever learning, but nonetheless want to be able to produce good quality sound pups, with great temperaments, good structure, healthy, happy dachshunds. We are a small town breeder located in Gloucester, Virginia starting out as a pet breeder only now slowly transitioning over to good quality AKC pups. My daughter Ky and I started our showing journey in 2023 and have had the pleasure of showing some incredible dachshunds as well as other breeds and only hope to grow from there. YES, we Health Test and currently getting ALL of our breeding/show dachshunds all of their OFA’s done per breed standard.

Chrissy Mingee

It all began with a dream! A girl and a dachshund and the magic sparked! In my photo with me is my heart dog Nemo(who does no wrong,lol). Nemo was apart one of my very 1st litters & from the moment I laid eyes on him I knew he was special. You see Nemo was born with a cleft palate and needed me and little did I realize I needed him. I’m an avid Disney lover(hence our dachshunds names), and of course all things Doxie! We started out breeding in 2019/2020 to see if it was something for us, and we instantly fell in love with the gift of life. Over the years Ky & Chrissy have learned so much about Dachshunds as a whole and continue to learn as much as we possibly can as things are changing daily. Chrissy is also an avid shower alongside her daughter Ky, both of whom will be traveling alot in 2024 with big announcements to come. All of our AKC lines will be fully implemented into our program by 2025/2026 as we fully transition to AKC limited/full rights only. Fully health tested on all of our AKC lines as well as our upcoming showlines. There is always something to learn, advice to be given, knowledge to learn, mentorship, guidance, and support to be given.

Robin started off as a pup parent but quickly became my right hand side kick, best friend, and your puppies photographer! Let’s not forget to mention she own’s 2 of Mingee’s Doxies, Copper & Macy Kay, married to James, and a full time school teacher. Robin & James are both huge helps with our program and we love them so very much! Robin is also a HUGE Disney fan, just like me :) and I’m so glad to have her on board with our program as we feel she has been a huge asset to our program and a vital role in our family.

Ky Mingee
Co-Founder
Ky is a smart, determined young lady who has a passion in showing in the AKC conformation shows. She is also trying her skills out in agility, barn hunting, working on producing her 1st set of GCH/CH dachshunds who are Health tested, OFA certified, and adding quality to our program in which we will fully phase to as our lines grow. For being young youth, she has already accomplished so much with more to come. She has shown many breeds from Dachshunds, Corgi, Beagle, Mini American Shepard, and more. She was also invited to the PWCCA Nationals where she showed and groomed Corgis in 2023. Her adventures are just beginning in 2024 and we can’t wait to watch it unfold.
